Your host: Eugene Newcombe: Chairman of the Lenape Forum

I dedicate this site to all those who have walked before me:  though their trials were great, they persevered.  It is thanks to them that the spirit of our ancestors dwell within each of us.

Welcome to the Lenape Forum!  We are a non-profit corporation dedicated to preserving the culture of the Lenni Lenape Indians and to helping the impoverished among them.  This foundation is operated by Lenape for the good of Lenape people everywhere.  The primary purpose of this site is to establish a communication vehicle: a vehicle through which all functions of the Forum can be coordinated.  It will provide a path allowing for dialog between all Lenape people to take place on a continuing basis.  We believe communication is the key to unity.  Fate has spread us across this country, now through this site we have the opportunity to take fate into our own hands.  The Forum has provided this site with several tools to help us in the communications process:

  1. The Lenape Forum's activities page (FOUNDATION):  this is where detailed information on the foundation's established programs, planned initiatives, and how to donate can be found.

  2. Special announcements:  we will post information or provide a link to information about any event dedicated to helping preserve our culture or support a need of any kind.

  3. A Delaware tribal information page (NOTES):  where facts about the Delaware Indian tribe and the Lenape people can be found.  We will update the information as requests for information not listed are received or as we learn more facts ourselves.

  4. A Directory (DIRECTORY):  where your name, phone, and Email address can be posted.  Placement to the directory is not automatic; you will only be placed on the directory if you Email or write me with instructions directing me to post your information to the directory.  You may be surprised to see how closely grouped some of us are.  Wouldn't it be great to meet with others who live in the same area?  This area is PASS WORD protected.

  5. A topics for decision page (TOPICS):  where selected issues will be set forth in detail.  The topics for decision will be selected though information gathered from message board comments.  If you have a concern about a particular issue facing our people, please post your issue to the "Future Topic for Discussion"  message board.

  6. Message Center (MESSAGE):  where we can post our thoughts on discussion topics for all to see.  A general message board will always be available for making any comments that you may have on any topic (see the Topic's page for a listing of all message board subjects).  You must register on your first visit to the message board.

  7. Historical Archive (ARCHIVE):  where historical facts about our people are stored.  This will be an on going effort, new information will be added as research projects are completed.

  8. General Council (Council): where you can view General Council information; such as, Committee reports, budget proposals, and budget justifications.

This site is for US!  We are only a tool for you to help us help our people.  We will do our best to provide coordination of the information on this site: it is up to you to provide us with the ideas to keep this site interesting and moving in a positive direction. All suggestions for improvements to this site will be considered and appreciated.  Thanks for listening.  GET INVOLVED !
